Dr Archana Khan

Dr. Archana Khan is a highly qualified and experienced pediatrician with a focus on Pediatric Rheumatology. She obtained her MBBS from SETH G.S Medical College, Mumbai University, India, in 1997, and later completed her DCH and DNB (Pediatrics) from B.Y.L. Nair Hospital and Topiwala Medical College, Mumbai, in 1999.

Dr. Khan has continually sought to enhance her skills and knowledge through various certifications and courses. She completed a one-year online course in Pediatric Rheumatology offered by Paediatric Rheumatology European Society (PReS) and European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) in February 2020. Additionally, she received certification in the 'Art and Science of Paper Writing' by Indian Paediatrics in 2021 and attended a Scientific Writing and Publication Workshop conducted by the Indian Journal of Rheumatology and Pediatric Rheumatology Society in 2020.

With over 18 years of experience as a Consultant in General Pediatrics (Special Interest Paediatric Rheumatology) , Dr. Khan has made significant contributions to the field of Pediatric Rheumatology. She served as an Observer at the Pediatric Rheumatology department at SRCC Children Hospital from October 2018 to February 2020 under the guidance of Dr. Raju Khubchandani. Subsequently, she became a Consultant in the Pediatric Rheumatology department, where she has seen over 2000 new cases and conducted over 5000 follow-up visits.

Dr. Khan played a pivotal role in implementing the 'Nail Fold Capillaroscopy' procedure in the Pediatric Rheumatology Department and has been actively involved in the education and mentoring of fellows in the department. Her commitment to patient care extends beyond clinical practice, as evidenced by her involvement in the 'Patient and Family Engaged Care System' for individuals with the rare condition of DADA2, in collaboration with the DADA2 Foundation in Washington, US.

She has been a key member in the conceptualization, implementation, and execution of a Pediatric tele-rheumatology model during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Dr. Khan has also participated in various international conferences and web conferences, such as the JIR Cohort Winter School live web conference with Villars, Switzerland (2019/2020).

Dr. Archana Khan's dedication to advancing knowledge in her field is further demonstrated by her role in content development for the online teaching program 'Pediatric Rheumatology Orientation Made in Steps Using ECHO (PROMISE)' in 2019. She has also facilitated the compassionate use enrollment of a child with CD55 deficiency for a biological drug not available in India.
